The left analog stick wears out all the time. You might not notice it right away as not all games show it. In games where the movement of the left stick is very sensitive, certain directions will cause the character to constantly shuffle their feet, as the controller signal will constantly alternate between hard and soft presses. My first controller had this problem when I pressed analog for about 1 hour, the second - when I pressed directly to the left. I've never had so many problems with a gaming system controller. Even my Stick Drift 360 controllers don't get as unplayable as these PS4 controllers.
