Bought 2 of these in stock for Christmas gifts. Both have an ips top screen and a tn bottom screen. 3ds is said to be nearing the end of its lifespan (they say next year), but that means there's a wide catalog of games across all genres. Action, adventure, RPG, platform, shooter, racing, you name it, and there's a good game on this system along with all the classics to play on a virtual console. As for the systems I bought, both have been flawless. I specifically chose 2 that I bought based on the notes and there was no damage or scratch notes on either system. Both systems had to be updated before they could come online, one system listed as new was on 11.0 and the other which was very good was on 11.2. The update went smoothly and now the catalog of games from the online store is available. Only the system that shipped with 11.0 had the game enabled. I don't mind. I am happy with my purchase and even happier that I bought them a few weeks ago before the price went over $20 each. I also have a PS Vita and there is simply no comparison for me. 3ds is way better imo. Advantages of 3ds over Vita: Uses a standard micro SD memory card. Large catalog of games (usually more exciting games). New games are still being created and released for 3ds. it works quite well and is easy to turn off. I seem to have better battery life on my 3ds from people who have gifted them the way I like.
