We recently moved into a carpeted house. Our old house didn't have carpets, so we didn't have a good carpet vacuum. Then I got this Roomba. Holy crap. It's like we've lived here for two months without a good vacuum cleaner! After charging Roomba overnight, I installed the app and connected it to Alexa (pretty easy if you're logged in to a 2.4GHz WiFi signal). Finally, it's time to check how well it works. I walked around the house and made sure there weren't any obstacles like power cords or piles of laundry in the way. I opened the app and pressed the button that said "Vacuum Everywhere". I could also just press the physical button on the Roomba. Roomba vacuumed for 28 minutes before I stopped it to see if it was picking up anything. Wow. I think I found a lost cat! The container was FULL of cat hair and other junk! I was impressed! Some observations after 3 uses. This thing is powerful when it's needed. He senses when he's on the carpet and grabs the hammer to increase his power. If he moves onto a hard surface, he almost immediately knocks out the racquet and reduces power. This is a noticeable change in volume. I'm pretty sure it's capable of off-road use too. We have a very thick carpet that is very uneven and Roomba handles it with no problem. It makes some noise but not enough to scare cats (see photo). The second time I ran it, it ran 56 minutes before being parked because it was full. Another lost cat has been found. The third time I turned it on, I just told Alexa to turn Roomba on and it was up and running. I am very pleased with this vacuum cleaner. We have another robot vacuum (iLife) that is half as powerful and totally useless on carpet. I love Roomba!
