Stable, but pay attention to the photos when assembling.
It was fairly easy to assemble, I did it myself and if I had read all the instructions first I probably would not have turned some of the side pieces upside down and I would have had to redo most of it. Make sure the side pieces are properly aligned with the crossbars before proceeding. It has room for all my shoes, I even have a few free holes for future purchases. There's even a top-like tray that's durable enough to hold my nightgown and bathrobe in all day.
