This model has had a sluggish opening and closing of the lid so far, even with brand new batteries. The charcoal filter doesn't seem to do anything about the smell, and it's expensive. I don't think I'm used to the sensor yet, lots of false alarms and to activate it the lid pops open and hits my arm so not entirely sure all the kinks are dealt with on that end. The design of the bin liner is VERY elegant. If this came with a power cord and you forgot the very expensive filter bag you'd have a pretty good mid-sized bin. The company seems to be actively researching and improving their products, so while I wouldn't recommend this bin, I would still give the company a shot in the future.
