So I figured that along with the test strips would give me a complete brake fluid picture. I was wrong. Even after other solutions followed to seal the seams next to the probes with JB-weld, this thing gives very different results. First test - immersion in distilled water: Result < 1% detected water - Hmmm, that means something. Second test, tap water - result > 4% water (maximum) - good, it conducts better. Old brake fluid (not suitable for test strips) < 2% water (does not need to be changed). Brand new brake fluid, from a bottle, freshly opened > 4% water (*must* be changed) - well, unlikely. Further testing shows that the *exact* depth to which the probes are inserted makes a big difference in results, just for new brake fluid. Spend your money on test strips from guys.
