Lamps arrived quickly and in good condition. The packaging looked good - the bulbs were wrapped in styrofoam and placed in a plastic clamshell container in individual boxes for each bulb. When I put them in the device and turned it on, there was a slight burning smell immediately. I was ready to accept this as a normal hack that would wear off over time, but after a few minutes a column of white smoke began to rise from the base of one of the lamps. At that point I put them back in the original packaging for a refund. I didn't have time to measure light output, but they seemed twice as bright as a 23W CFL (1600 lumens, 100W equivalent) in the same fixture. Not the room filling, GARDEN banishing light I was expecting. Other reviews say the color temperature is closer to 5000K than 6500K - I haven't been able to verify that, but it's consistent with my first impressions. Color and brightness don't matter if the bulb is flammable and I won't risk an exchange.
