This toy is not intended to be a baby's first rattle.

I bought this for my 3 month old daughter, she loves the shapes but the description of the first rattles made me a little disappointed as they are hard. . (Like they might hurt themselves playing alone to bang their heads) I thought there was some kind of silicone to play as a teether. But they were so cute.
