If you like to make a hamburger, if it shrinks as it cooks, it will be so small that it's not much larger than a silver dollar. If you put in 1/4 pound of a raw hamburger, it will be a raw patty about 4 inches in diameter and about 1 inch thick. It should be larger, at least 2 inches in diameter. Forget this when you buy big buns.
