Review on 6000MAh Solar Hand Crank Radio With FM/NOAA Weather Broadcast, LED Camping Lantern, Phone Charger, And SOS Emergency Signal - Portable And Battery Operated For Home, Camping, And Survival by Nick Whitman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Innovative, but poor quality and larger than expected

I bought this to carry in my Motorhome for emergencies, As it turns out, I'll be keeping it at home becuase of it's large size. What I like about it.- They have really done a nice job fitting alot of features into this device. It has a light that has three levels of brightness. When closed the light is a cool, almost blue tint. The light flips up and the back side is much warmer probably better for some tasks. The radio has two modes.weather band and FM. When the antenna is raised i was able to tune in many station. The weather band allows you easy access to the NOAA weather report in your area, The device also has an alarm that lets out a large siren tone when pressed. I don;t have much utility for thsi feature, but I suppose some people would value it. It also can serve as an emergecy power bank to charge your cell phone or other USB device. There are three USB ports. Two standard USB for charging external devices and one USB-C port to recharge the device's battery.- The device can be powered and charged in mutiple ways. First using the internal rechargable bettery. The battery can be recharged using the USB C cable (included), using sunlight through a solar cell located on the back of the device, and through a hand crank located on the side of the device. You can also insert three AAA batteries (not included) into the bottom of the device to power the unit, These options give you alot of versatility in an emergency,What I don;t like about it.--It's quit4 large and with limited space in my motorhome (or my backpack), i would prefer a more compact device.--The battery cover is difficult to remove. In fact I needed to use a screwdriver to pry it off.- The device does not seem very rugged,. In fact the safety instructions in the users manual says "The product should not be subjected to strong impacts and should not come into contact with liquids". Both of these things are possible to encounter in an emergecy situation.- The device has a stand, but I found it to be unstable and easy to topple when using the stand.Other comments.- The device comes with a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase.-- The instruction manual warns agains over discharging the battery as it will reduce the battery's life.
