We have what's known as a great room downstairs, our living room, dining room, and kitchen are all one room. For me, streamlining the design is necessary for the look I would like. I found this one immediately and didn't see any others that i liked as much. It's 14x72 inches, which isn't much shorter than my table. With the leaf in, it goes from end to end with nothing hanging over. We rarely have the leaf in, so it isn't much of a problem.
