These leggings are thicker and warmer than what you can buy at Walmart. However, my 7 year old daughter didn't like it. It wasn't designed for her body type. She is of average height [50. percentile], but slightly thinner than average. She is not very thin but quite slim [30. percentile by weight]. The length fit her perfectly. However, the waist was too big and there was just too much material. The leggings are swollen around her waist and fall off a bit when she runs. If we reduced the size, they would certainly be too short. They seem built for the wider kid. If your little girl is tall and thin, you can keep shopping. If not, these will most likely fit.
