At first I only used it one day, but that day I tried chopping and slicing carrots, chopping and grating cheese and washing this part. I blame myself for the money I spent. The cutting knife did not cut the carrots but tore them into pieces. The middle grater didn't grate the carrots, just sprinkled them over the surface. I shredded the cheddar cheese with a medium sized grater, got chunks and shreds that worked since I melted the cheese in the soup. The cutting blade worked to cut blueberry cheddar cheese. Both cheeses were semi-soft. I'm glad I kept my old slicer/grater but still hope this new utensil will survive the learning curve. for easy cleaning. Haven't tried resetting it yet.
