I bought this for 9 cup cooking from Cuisinart and it works great. It is sold for 7 and 11 cups but they are all the same size. When using it for fries, I was surprised at how little waste there was compared to what I cut by hand. all you have to do is, even with a large russet one, simply snip the ends to fit inside a potato lengthwise, then press the start button and bam in less than 2 seconds she's slicing that potato with a bunch of fries through. In just a few steps you can prepare fries BETTER than at McD. After cutting, soak the fries in cold water for about 5 minutes, drain the starch, repeat the process, then place in an ice bath for 1/2 hour. Put the oil in a frying pan on the stove and heat to a medium temperature of 350 to 370 degrees. Blanch the fries for 3 minutes and remove, place on a wire rack and freeze for at least an hour. Heat the oil again to 350-370 and cook until golden brown, season with salt to taste. It is very important not to skip any of these steps. I guarantee these will be the best french fries you will ever eat.
