First of all, yes, the cinch cables are analogue. Second, they've been around since 1956! The reviews you read are purely subjective and are based on individual people's ideas of how it should sound. This is my sixth purchase of these Monoprice RCA cables, despite the fact that the price is undoubtedly very attractive. They work exactly as intended. They're not too tight, just twist and squeeze a little and that's it. You can remove them in the same way. In all my 40 years of listening to quality audio gear, I can be honest with you. My dad had a Harman Kardon receiver which I think has lasted for decades. I wish I knew where he went when he died. Look, here's the thing. RCA cables are only needed for a few things. When paired, they should transmit sound in unison and avoid feedback noise. That's all. It's pretty easy. I have used and still use Audioquest cables, but not RCA. I use their HDMI cables and I really like them. The thing is, there's a lot more going on in an HDMI 2.1 cable! It offers up to 8K video and digital audio up to 768kb. The picture quality and depth of sound when using it is just wonderful. Again, RCA is just an analog shielded cable that only carries audio. Right and left channel only. Yes they are a bit stiff but that is due to their excellent protection. In this department they weaken, as do the connectors (connectors). Monoprice does a lot of things right and some things wrong. You are not perfect nobody is perfect. The audio cables are a steal at this price. Don't be distracted by other people's opinions and situations. I tried them all and in the end Monoprice won. I recently saw an interview with The Audiophiliac by Steve Guttenberg. He's an old man, like me. He also writes articles, books and reports for many companies including Sound & Vision Magazine and CNET. In this review video I watched, he asks his friend, the guy who started high-end audio retail stores, including Tower Records. He said it clearly when Steve asked him about RCA cables and what they were used for. He stared straight at the camera with nothing to lose or gain and of course repeated what I said in this review. Also, he realized once again that there was nothing to lose. Retailers, and now online, receive and continue to receive most of their profits from additional services. or add. Not so much high-end speakers from Marantz or Paradigm (as examples). An additional addition, you guessed it right, are the cables. While an audio component can have a profit margin of 5% to 20% depending on the cable, the cable is significantly higher! Cable markups can be 90% or more! Please do yourself a favor. Try them yourself and change your mind, For example, Monoprice RCA cables are $380 instead of $3.20 for a 1.5 foot cable. Close your eyes and just listen. Listen for pops, crackles, hisses, or other noises that are not on the recording. Some artists intentionally use the analog sound of a recording as a background instead of the pure, clean digital sound. Then do the same say, with Adioquest RCA cables (no contradiction, remember, specifically with RCA cables). Sit back and A, then B them to yourself. Don't use an optical cable that simply lets light through. In this regard, the light is either on or off, transmitting 1s and 0s. There is no noise or interference as the speed of the signal is literally the speed of light. But a good break in Break-In, or whatever you want to call it, makes components and analog cables lighter. Headphones are a good example of this. Just give yourself a chance to try these $3 Monoprice cables. Forget the price, close your eyes and listen to yourself. They are identical in all respects EXCEPT for interference. However, this can be easily removed. The transition is superb, the sound is the same as a $1000 cable. You need the right sound technology for this! One small exception What I wouldn't recommend is using disposable cables provided by the manufacturer. The one that comes with your awesome new CD transporter. Throw that away. They are free, unshielded and useless. So for only $3.20 you can replace them based on length only. I don't work for Monoprice or Revain. I heard more and more, an artist's breath or the plucking of guitar strings. It really is endless. But this review is not endless and I will end right here.
