I received my iProven Dt-R1221AWG Medical Thermometer, not trusting my infrared in-ear thermometer. Easy to use, digits are approx 1/2 inch and readable. Takes approx 10-30 seconds to get a read, similar to the glass oral thermometers. There is a "completed" tone, but can be difficult to hear, especially with background noise. There are little smiley faces on the display which i cannot see well w/o magnifier but knowing the three stages (normal, slight elevated and elevated) and their positions on the display makes this a non-issue. I just needed the digits to be displayed. It is an adequate tool in my med kitcon - battery is in a small compartment and requires a SMALL headed screwdriver to remove. Not a common tool one has at home. I work miniature/micro electronics so I had one, an eyeglass repair tool kit may have one as well. Suggest taking to a jewelers for a battery replacement, when needed. The price for wanting miniaturization.
