I watched a YouTube video to understand how to use it and it was very helpful. It helps if you put some fabric glue around it and also put some fleece or felt on the backing before you put the backing on and use the prongs. I usually cut out two squares a little larger than the clasp itself and add two slits. Then (once the fabric is threaded) I add felt to the back (2 pieces), then use the back and then use pliers to secure the pins firmly. Any YouTube video will help you figure out if you're encountering any problems. Overall I think it's a great product for the money.
