My daughter is getting to the age where she wants to "be cool" and avoid pink and rainbow colors. They seemed to suit her so we tried them on. You are a perfect match for us. It has a little more space, which I like. They really do look like leather too which would make my 8 year old feel pretty fancy. I have no issue with the thickness of the fabric, but that might be because it was faux leather rather than the more traditional stretch jersey. The instructions state that they should not be washed or dried - only wiped with a damp cloth. However, my daughter walked around the house all day in her new pants. Her biggest gripe is that it's too hot to wear outside at the moment. She is very happy with it!
