Bought for my 18 month old and supervising while we play (she won't put anything in her mouth at 12 months but we're all still careful). She will soon be 2 years old and basically LOVES "chewing gum" and uses tweezers to feed her stuffed animals various "candies". This helped her learn all of her colors and shapes (turquoise was new to her). We've recently started using counters (she's up to 5) and we only add when she's learning new numbers. The pins for the counting rings are loose and you have to line them up from smallest to largest when collecting them or if they fall out when the kids are trying to put the counters on. As soon as my daughter counts to ten, we will glue the pencils. Cards that fit under a cut out wooden board tend to slip a lot since the pins are the only thing holding them in place, but they're cute and give you a few options. I would say I wish there was a single color card with no additional images because it can be distracting to find a blue star when it also has a cat or the number 7 with a giraffe on it. In general it's great for developing fine motor skills, colours, shapes and numbers, cupcake shaped balls and fish are great for role play. However, keep a close eye on young children and do not suspect that your child will try to taste something as this can definitely lead to choking.
