BEWARE! Charging Port Broken

I originally purchased these adapters because one (of the two) USB-C ports on my Macbook Air was damaged due to the charging cable twisting sideways during use. However, these adapters don't fit properly and my last remaining connector is now damaged and unable to hold the charger. These adapters fit the port but appear to be too big to bend/damage the port in any way, making it difficult to hold anything plugged in. Now it only charges inconsistently if the cable is just right (much like old pre-Bluetooth headphones always broke at the jack and took endless fumbling to keep them going). I deeply regret this purchase and am sure it will cost me hundreds of dollars to repair.
