. I used it to install a reversing camera on my old pickup (1978). The installation went well. I already had a long RCA style video cable with an extra red wire from a backup camera I bought. I just connected this extra red wire to the reverse lights power supply so the reverse lights turn on the camera and also send that extra signal back to this unit and switch it to channel 2. I think this unit can be used to display the -something else on channel 1 (like gps maps or whatever) and it will automatically switch to 2 when reverse gear is engaged. As far as I can tell the screen is sharp, big and bright. I love the fact that it's 7 inches, larger than the smaller rear camera screens I've bought in the past. From my point of view there was nothing confusing about directions or installation. Basically I have two options: a plastic cover/body so you can mount it in a headrest or something, or a base/stand so I just have to pull it out of a plastic cover I'm not using. I use a stand. I haven't decided where to mount it yet, but so far it sits perfectly in front of the seat. Connections are simple: black and red for main power/ground, green for "trigger" (turn it on to switch it to AV2 like I did) and then AV1 and AV2 inputs (AV1 for "normal" and AV2 for backup ). You can also switch inputs manually using the front panel button. It seems there were other buttons, I didn't press any of them because so far I only use the rear camera and it works fine. There was a remote control there which I don't think I would want to use for anything either. I would buy this again.
