Review on DYPER Responsibly Sourced Bamboo Durable by Frank Alejo

Great concept, poor execution

Compostable diaper brand that helps reduce environmental impact. Great idea right? If only the post-processing costs were exorbitant. We contacted the manufacturer directly (the only way to arrange diaper returns) and spent $90 for 100 diapers plus compost return. And to be clear, these diapers are only composted by the manufacturer. If you throw them in the trash, like all other bamboo diapers, they are biodegradable. They sent compostable bags, but I had to invent them for my diaper genius...otherwise you'll have to pay $80 for your own diaper pail. So composting your diapers for the environment seems like a great idea...diapers stay in your house for a month. I feel sorry for the delivery service that has to ship these things. There should be a biohazard warning on the packaging, especially bombs that our kid sometimes drops. And I haven't gotten to the diapers themselves yet. We bought the XL briefs as they were rated at a minimum of 28 pounds. Our little one is 30 pounds so we thought we would be safe. They stretch well and "fit" her, but as other reviews have said they are very tight. We always had a side up her ass, so frequent leaks... and pops. It's always fun to wake up. Ever wanted to start your day by cleaning up your baby's poop and washing their crib? Look no further! We previously used Pampers Cruisers 360 fit. Still the best diapers we have ever used. Not eco-friendly, but how difficult is it to imitate a competitor and make a similar product out of more eco-friendly materials? I hope other companies do what Dyper is doing... and do it better. Meanwhile, take another bamboo diaper. Especially if you're going to just throw them in the bin anyway and not bring them back to compost. Unless you like throwing your money away, then you'll pass out!

Pros
  • Disposable diapers
Cons
  • Expensive
