I chose the Samson Q2U as an affordable choice for the podcast interviews I conduct. There are many recommendations for other microphones that cost hundreds of dollars. It's out of my budget! Pros: Easy to set up. USB or cable connection. Both are long cords so you can move things around. Works with Skype. Works with wireless headphones. Cons: The only negative I can say is that I don't really like the stand. It's a bit of an artificial feeling. I appreciate that it comes with a stand, but it's not as stable as I'd like it to be. but I can fix it with a future purchase. This is a great choice if you're just starting out and are on a tight budget. Updated May 2018: I've used this for a couple of podcast interviews I've done now and it's great. I speak clearly and loudly and the interviewer gets a great podcast recording. My son even uses it to record music now.
