To be honest I have a Razer Viper and this mouse feels comfortable in my hand. But the shape, size and feel of this mouse REALLY make for great web browsing and relaxing gaming. IE: Terraria, Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper (relaxing games). I mean, of course it's not meant for sports, but it will be comfortable for your little hands and have a touch of finesse for your light game. I think most kids will like it. The USB stick is very small and easily lost, so keep it plugged in and stowed in the mouse. Batteries used: AA MAX; the energy should last longer than your marriage. Tip: Make sure you have the required information (serial key, product key) to register the product on the Razer main page. Tip: You need the software required for this mouse. Not required but I believe it is required for all Razer devices. Tip: The software will tell you how much battery percentage you have with the included AA batteries.
