Review on FRIGIDAIRE Professional 30-Inch Gas Cooktop: Stainless Steel, 5 Burners & Propane Convertible by George Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My wife's gift for Mother's Day.

UPDATE: 5/31/21: I used Turtle Wax, a hard coating on the SS surface and wiped the top completely with a damp cloth. And it was pretty splattered from my heavy roast today and yesterday. ORIGINAL: Very easy to install into an existing 30" spot. Gas and electric plugs only. It's quite heavy, 30 pounds alone. The two outer bars weigh 8 pounds each. The medium weighs 8.75 pounds and the pan weighs 11 pounds. The flame is much larger and hotter than the old GE profile. The bars are the same as in the diner. I had to buy gas line joint sealant (make sure you read the label) and used about a teaspoon and then back for the regulator to the gas line adapter. $4.58. Tried very hard. Not Frigidaire's fault. Gave 3 stars for Easy to Clean because she hasn't cleaned it yet and the bars will be too heavy for her at 81. I would advise sticking with the heavy ones as hitting a heavy shell on thinner material can break it. They have shared the experience of some other cheaper reviewers. Also, the thinner ones on display in the store broke while sitting on the stove! I already like it and recommend it. NOTE: It's always nice to see a price drop the day after you've received your oven! UPDATE: 5/14/21 I have 2.7 oz. Burgers in a 12 inch cast iron skillet centered and they were crispy like they came from a fine dining restaurant. There was no crust at all on the old oven. Also, the fries cook twice as fast on the right front burner, great job! Eventually the entire top part was spattered with grease and it was immediately removed with paper towels.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
