During this house order I received many requests from my family to build a gaming PC for them but on a budget. It's great to have gaming peripherals with RGB lighting, but it's overpriced. I was a bit skeptical about this brand of Havit but after using it I believe now. If I have a bitter aftertaste, it's the packaging. It annoys me a lot that I have to pull the keyboard and mouse out of the small side of the box, I had all the other KB boxes open from the top. But everything else is great. Firstly the build quality, the upper frame is made of aluminum. It appears to be very strong and hardly bends. Both the mouse and keyboard have braided cables, which I think should become the standard for PC peripherals. The detachable palm rest is made of plastic, not a pad. While I find the wrist rest to be okay for a few hours of gaming, some people might find it difficult on their wrist for extended periods of time, but you can always remove it if you don't like it. Both the KB keycaps and mouse are made of high-quality plastic, the same materials used in the $200 brand. I love mechanical keyboards and this keyboard uses blue switches. The buttons are very clicky, but are a bit softer or less resilient than other blue switches. I would say the button feels like a cross between blue and brown switches. I've played a few fast FPS games and the response times for both KB and mouse are excellent. No lag or missed keys while gaming. One thing about the mouse is that while it has 6 different DPI settings, it's not the 1200 DPI that I'm also used to. But the 1600 DPI setting isn't much different anyway and should be fine for most. Overall, I'm surprised at how good this keyboard and mouse combo is. Is it great for gaming? Oh yes, that's great. Is it suitable for everyday use? Yes of course. Is it durable? Sturdy aluminum frame, yes. Will i buy it again? Definitive. Highly recommended.
