Problems with multiple partitions - recycle bin

I have tested three USB sticks so far and they all have multiple partitions. None of my other USB sticks have this problem. I'm using Parted to try to make a USB stick a single partition, to no avail. This shouldn't be a problem with new drives. I will not buy this brand again. EDIT: All drives failed and became unusable after 6 months.
