I've been using this watch for about eight months now and feel I have a good idea of what it's like. I mostly jog, but occasionally go hiking with the device. I upgraded from an old Garmin (310xt) and was overall very happy with the unit. My first one broke (outside Revain's return period) but Garmin replaced it fairly quickly when I called the phone number. Online technical support never replied to my email address. Pros: Much thinner and lighter than previous Garmin GPS watches. My old 310xt is like a brick now. Accurate GPS. If I run the same course, the distance is the same as the previous run. Acquire satellites fairly quickly. Much faster and more reliable than the 310xt. - Wi-Fi is surprisingly convenient. When I come back from a run I just push the button and snooze the watch for a moment and it syncs everything. I forgot to turn them off when I lowered them, but that's my personal brain injury, not the watch's fault. After a while it goes into sleep mode but the battery is dead. - I love the website and tracking my workouts. Cons - The first device was defective. Wifi never worked and eventually it went into a mode it couldn't get out of. Garmin replaced the device after I sent the old one back. It lasted about a week. Online technical support ignored my first message to them. I tried again later when I had problems with the website and they responded within about 3 business days. Better than not answering at all, but very slowly. I would recommend calling via email. You have a new website design, but it's buggy. Sometimes I see someone else's data (there is a runner in Russia whose runs I sometimes see) and it garbles its local cache in the browser so you have to clear history and cookies to get it working again. I keep going back to classic mode as they force you to switch to the new mode. Every time I run into these errors, I go back to the classics. I've only used the included heart monitor a couple of times. Maybe I only need them every few months to get stats updates, but for me it's a luxury. So great watch. One star off for crappy online support, a buggy new website (fortunately I can turn it off) and a buggy first device. But overall it's a great watch and I have years of experience with the Garmin system. Website issues are a big problem as there are many companies that offer storage and display of historical fitness information. I see the day I throw away my Garmin watch and just use my iPhone. But that's not all, and the main reason is that the iPhone fitness program isn't that useful. And I'll probably need some sort of watch again as I'm addicted to seeing my distance and time while running, but this Apple Watch is coming too.
