I look for three things in a universal charger: 1. It has to provide the right voltage and be rated for the right power. (I won't say it has to be the correct amperage as different devices draw different currents at different times. As long as they provide the correct electrical potential (voltage) and are rated for the correct wattage, P = IV I know that this gives my device the right entry.) 2. It should be small and light enough to be carried with the laptop.3. Damn spikes gotta stay in place! I found this charger does all of those things. Tip retention is excellent and the size/weight is phenomenal and it really provides the right input for my computer. For the average user, I think the most important aspect of this charger is its size. The brick measures 4.75 x 2.5 x 0.625 inches. If you're looking for a cheap and portable 90W laptop charger, you've come to the right place. For electronics enthusiasts: The charger contains some logic to determine the correct voltage. So if you're measuring your electronics for example, you'll probably want to use an output clamp and measure the total power drawn from the outlet / I = V so you can still get your voltage, but you'll need to consider the power loss during rectification. If you decide To play around with the logic (I won't judge) it's RoHS compliant so don't expect a lot of fun desoldering/soldering this, plus it will flood a lot of the components. .
