I bought this dual mode because I wanted to charge the battery using the jack connector next to the key instead of removing the fairing and connecting directly to the battery. . Unfortunately, the CanBus mode doesn't work on my bike, even though the connector fits. I wrote to Optimate but received no reply. The instructions could have been better, I was able to switch modes so I'm pretty sure I was in CanBus mode. Eventually I switched back to direct mode, removed the fairing, attached the clips and the battery was well charged. It works great as a direct charger, but I paid a lot more to get dual mode and it doesn't get me anywhere. I haven't decided yet if I'll keep it.
