This knife has small serrations and works incredibly well. I have a more expensive serrated slicer that doesn't work as well as this one. The best place for this knife is in the center of the front. Always on the hood with perfect windows. Stainless steel is the perfect thickness for a bit of flexibility and rigidity. I have a large hand and am very comfortable even with my hand outstretched. Everyone who uses it says they want it. For the money this knife is no problem.
