Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall a good deal.

First of all, I want to say that I did not use anything other than scissors. However, I think this would be a great starter kit. Thought I would just describe what comes with this kit for those not sure what they are getting for their money. This rating refers to a small set. Let's start with scissors. If this review was all about scissors then it would be 3 stars. Why? Because I have big hands and these are made for small hands. But they are good and sharp. I just wish I could fit more than one finger in the hole opposite where my thumb fits. The two bone folders appear to be made of bone. The smaller, curved one measures just over 4.75 inches. Big is only a hair over 8 inches long. Both lie flat. The awl is on the small side but looks well made with a nice and sharp end. I wish it was a little bigger. When the ball rests in the center of my palm, the metal tip is just below the end of my second finger. The waxed thread is flat and available in four colors: black, off-white, tan and very tan. Must do a nice job. I cut off a foot of black and pulled as hard as I could. He didn't break. The set contains six long eyed needles in three different sizes. They are sharp but not as sharp as sewing needles. The thimble was too small for my fingers but would have been great for small hands. Off-white flat linen was included, a strip 1.5 inches wide and about 6.5 feet. wide. A glue brush, five and a half inches long. I pulled on the bristles and tried to loosen some of them, but nothing came out. Four 1.25 inch wide binding clips with jaws that open a half inch. The ruler is 8 inches long, thin and flexible. The marking is black and engraved into the metal, so it shouldn't rub off. One side is marked in inches, with additional markings for the first two and a half inches on one edge in twenties, eighths, one-half inches, and one inch. Half an inch after that is marked with fifties. The next five inches are marked in tenths, halfs, and one inches. The other edge is in increments of thirty seconds, sixteenths, eighths, quarters, half and one inch for the first two and a half inches, followed by half an inch with additional sixty-fourths. The next five inches are in sixteenth, eighth, quarter inch, half inch and one inch increments. I have won'
