Review on Continental ContiVikingContact 7 205/55 R16 94T winter by Mateusz Rzeczycki ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is of good quality, but I won't buy it again.

Having 2 cars in the family, one on this clutch, the second on spikes, we can make an unambiguous conclusion - that you always feel more confident on spikes in winter conditions. The friction clutch wins only on bare asphalt, and then in terms of comfort. On snow, ice, spikes are also not audible. At minus 30 on this rubber, like on spikes, an excellent hook. On the pavement sprinkled with reagents is also good. On a rolled road at a temperature of about 0, it’s certainly scary to drive, unlike spikes. In version 225/60/17 XL, I will not say that it is soft, the tread itself is soft, so grainy asphalt is good. But because of the rigid sidewall, all the bumps, the joints are rough.

Pros
  • No thorns - no clatter. Good handling on clean pavement, at speeds up to 140 in pleasure, did not go higher.
Cons
  • Very heavy, in size 225/60/17 weighs exactly 14 kg, while my summer Goodyear in the same size weighs 10.9 kg In the suv version with the XL sidewall, the sidewall is quite rigid, which affects the comfort when driving through the pits.
