We originally chose one of these bath inserts as a floral washbasin cushion. It was cute, sure, but with a newborn who had really good neck control (for his age) we had to keep repositioning him to keep him from slipping and falling. I bought this tub with the initial thought that it would be beautiful. to have a backup bath in case of an "explosion" that we could quickly switch to, but now that's basically all we use! It fits perfectly over our kitchen sink, has a heat indicator on the cork and holds baby very well. Our baby is on the longer side (99th percentile) so we switched the seat from the newborn configuration after using it once in that position. We also put a washcloth/tea towel on the seat as the hard plastic with drainage holes seemed to bother the baby. All in all, I highly recommend this tub. It also saved our backs because we don't have to bend down as much now that it's over the sink instead of in it!
