Pretty good text image for learning

just received this to replace another one, that I send back. The other dock cam (starts with "I") worked fine but produced a very blurry image from the tutorial pages when streamed live via Youtube. This camera is much better in direct comparison. Set up was easy for both, for my specific needs. I plugged in the power cord and connected the HDMI port to my ATEM mixer (Mini Extreme ISO model) and after a brief splash screen I showed pictures of my book. There are many toolbar controls that can be operated using buttons on the screen. Some also have dedicated buttons on the device. This is without downloading any software. I don't use a computer to manipulate the image, so that suits me. The picture is bright and sharp, there are plenty of zoom controls, and I like the extra backlight strip on the side of the positioning lever. Both lights can be activated individually and the light bar has 2 or 3 brightness levels. The only downside I've noticed so far is that the autozoom is slower than the other camera I sent back. This only happens when changing sides and only lasts a few seconds, but it is still noticeable. The buttons are easily accessible, although the case is much more "plastic" than the previous one. After using it for a while, I'll consider increasing (or decreasing) the star count.

Pros
  • High resolution image: 8.0 megapixels 1/4 inch CMOS sensor captures live images up to 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution
Cons
  • boring packaging
