I actually had to send another one as the first one was broken on arrival. Now I kind of understand why. This suggests it's strong enough to hold a tablet, but I wouldn't trust it at all! I also had to ask them to credit me for the plates as the ones that came with the product didn't hold up very well. I have a first generation iPad Pro 12.9. It fell off the thing twice, luckily my iPad didn't hurt when I put it on the couch to test it. It holds my iPhone 8plus well but not with my case. The cover fell off too. So as long as you're holding something fairly light and direct to the device, you'll be fine. The part that tightens it doesn't work as reliably and keeps turning when you try to lock it securely. Overall I like it because the magnet is strong although not as strong as advertised. It easily holds my phone when the plate is attached to my phone without a case. And it fits on my tripod, the main reason I bought it.
