The glass part is solid, I just wish the lids were solid too, but they don't hold liquid. After unpacking I was skeptical about the seal. So I poured some water in, closed the lid and turned it on its side. It didn't leak right away but as soon as I giggled a little like it was in my backpack or duffel bag HE SPILLED WATER EVERYWHERE. I don't want my laptop. Books, papers, etc. in my backpack are filled with chicken soup, which contains a lot of cayenne pepper.
