I was using another outdoor AP when my friend said I had to try MikroTik. I did just that and was so impressed I bought a second one. As others have said, it has a professional customization interface that can be intimidating. However, there is an initial "Quick Chooser" screen that contains default setting types without delving into the plethora of options. I set up a WISP hotspot in minutes and it worked great. If you run into difficulties you can use the very active support and forum to get answers - as I did with the second unit I just bought from Revain. I bought a second unit from Revain six months after the first one I received. from another provider. I assumed they were copies, but that's not entirely true. I've found that if you try to set up the bridge using Quick Set it works perfectly, but the device will never be available for further setup without a full hard reset. It was a puzzle and I ended up going to support and the forum. Any standard Quick Set Bridge setup only has this error on the second device, not my previous first. This appears to be a design flaw in the software installation and no one in support or the forum disputes this. After a lot of fiddling, hacking to disable a firewall operator exposed the device and it's working great. However, the final setup is not perfect and requires this hack. Neither I nor anyone in support or the forum has addressed the error yet, but for my purposes it doesn't matter as the block works fine as I would like it to. Skip the nitpicks. I'm not afraid of problems because I've learned so much, plus I got a second great device that has worked flawlessly for many years. UPDATE: MikroTik called me back and confirmed the error. Once fixed, any default jumper setting should work fine. That is my experience. If you value very good hardware at a reasonable price and are open to experimentation, this AP product is for you.
