Well, let me start by saying that I'm a fan of home theater. Over the past 20 years I've upgraded and upgraded enough that I still have all of Polk's quality floorstanding speakers. We recently moved and I wanted to do a cleaner install with rear speakers in my basement. I wanted in-wall speakers that were indiscreet and space efficient, but I was afraid of losing the sound quality and fidelity of my floor-standing speakers. I bought 2 of these and tried them, I thought worst case I wouldn't have $100. God, was I surprised! Of course you don't get the whole range of floorstanding speakers, but the difference is so small that it's not even worth mentioning. The fact that when installed correctly they can be aimed squarely at your listening position, not under or over your head, but directly at you, that alone changed the entire sound field and made it deeper than I've ever experienced in my home country. Theatre. Movies are more explosive and realistic while games are crazy. It's like wearing headphones. I was so impressed I bought a second pair and upgraded the system to 7.1 which filled the large basement with sound from all directions so everyone gets their share! I would buy them again and would recommend them to anyone who needs quality sound from a smaller compact in wall speaker. Don't let their price fool you.
