Frankly, without a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, it's impossible to know if something really works. There are always other factors at play. *And* each person's physiology is individual. However, I've struggled with my itchy, crusty scalp for literally as long as I can remember. I have literally tried countless different products. This stuff really seems to have made a difference. It's not completely gone, but seems to have gotten better. Instructions for use: Pay attention to the label, especially since it is not cheap. All I need (like a short-haired man, of course) is a small nickel-sized spoon in my palm, if I stir it a little between my palms first. When I do this, it lathers up nicely and leaves plenty of it. When I first poured some into my hand and poured it over my head, the lather didn't seem to foam much and I wondered if I was being duped - so take the other reviews that go on about this " problem" complain with a grain of salt. Much luck. Scalp problems suck. I hope this works for you.
