Review on Cool Cupcakes 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle By Colorcraft by Elizabeth Smith

My husband and I regularly do 1,000-2,000 piece puzzles together, and after doing a couple of challenging ones in a row we bought this one thinking it would be quick, easy, and relaxing. Nope. It was more of a struggle than the 4,000 piece one that we got and eventually we realized that it was stressful and neither of us was enjoying it, so we gave up, boxed it up, and passed it on. There were two things that made it much harder than we were expecting. First off, the puzzle is much darker than the image on the box so very little detail can be seen on the darker cupcakes. Second, the pieces are cut very unusually, making it extraordinarily difficult to visually pick out the next piece needed. Almost every piece had to be placed by trial and error. The cupcakes are cute, but not worth that much frustration to us. I'm not saying that it's a horrible puzzle, but it is far more difficult than the average 1,000 and much harder than it looks like it would be.
