I can't tell from the photo that they are completely flat. They wrap the base around the child's wrist and it kind of rounds them out, but they're not the same as those worn on the arm. They came in a flat postal envelope and arrived slightly misshapen which resulted in one of them sitting oddly on my son's arm. You are very thin. For example, less than a quarter of an inch. If I had known exactly what I was getting I probably wouldn't have ordered them. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because my kid loves them. He has a good grip on the handle but the shape means his fingers will slip out of the teether but it stays on his wrist and he can still chew on it. They have a smooth, shiny, and slightly sticky texture. I hope this information was helpful.
