Not super light but damn strong compared to my Titan Bottle 750. Dropped and hit this Para Bottle, no hard scars yet. The lid has real weight. Make sure you hold the cord with your thumb so the lid doesn't break in your face. Yes you can find a cheap old bottle or even a double walled option but if you've done your homework on titanium without leaching the metal. Try it or have the honor of drinking from a military canteen, you'll appreciate the difference. Purchase a Nalgene filtration system tailored to bottles and your kit for each water source.
