Each hair clip is pretty but the colors appear to have been spray painted. I could be wrong, but a couple of the ends of the forks had some sort of slight overlap that I tried to file down neatly so it wouldn't get caught in my hair. The real problem is that they feel flimsy when inserted into the hair - the ends of the prongs start to bend or converge, which you'll notice after removal if they don't fall out, which they do. I think a thicker version with fork ends so close together might be better. I will return and exchange.
