I'm 5'2, 165, big hips. I'd say if you're over 5ft 3" you need the long version. I love these pants. They are of excellent quality and look very nice. I plan to order more! They are very comfortable. and the waist stretches a bit, but not to the point where you look like you have more rolls than you actually have, like wearing pants. My waist is smaller than my hips/butt. I usually need to buy pants that fit my hips/butt and my waist is loose. It adapts very well to my curves. I would recommend them to everyone. They are true to size and exactly as pictured.
