6. Performance. The built-in Radeon Pro 560 is rather weak. I actively use BootCamp with custom drivers and sometimes play games - I can say for sure. It does not pull smooth work at the maximum screen resolution, if you put "More space" and disable switching to processor graphics. Well, yes, you can’t help but kick for LPDDR3 either, the iMac of the same year has DDR4. It was also not possible to notice an ultra-clear screen compared to the previous generation retina. Forgive me designers and those to whom deep black is really important. I am sure that the average person will not see any difference. The conclusion to all this is the following: For the first time in my life, buying Apple products, I felt cheated. Believing that the desktop world is gradually dying out, I decided to kill two birds with one stone: replace the old iMac with a 4K monitor, and the old performance of Proshka 13 with a new one. I turned to a seemingly time-tested solution, but unexpectedly for me it changed its segment on the way to the consumer: now it is not a professional laptop, but a very fashionable one. It looks very nice in the photo, you can beautifully stroke your finger on its touchpad, you can talk with it and use Apple Pay, which has not really taken root anywhere except Etsy for 2 years after the presentation (on the web). This is no longer a universal professional device that can be thrown into a backpack: it has carefully cut out all the ports except for proprietary ones. Without a case, the smooth body is easily scratched, and the logo is smudged. As a result, I decided for myself that on an airplane / trip and anywhere else - not a single laptop will give you such mobile capabilities as a tablet with a SIM card, and you can have normal power on a stationary workstation, which the new iMac does perfectly, become much more powerful. I use a bunch of iPad Pro 12.9 with a keyboard case and a custom iMac 2022. Fortunately, on the iPad, you can remotely launch applications from the iMac if it is urgently needed. MacBook Pro 15 Mid 2022 went where it should - to ebay.
- Evaluating the MacBook Pro 15 - Mid 2022 in the TOP store configuration (not custom) The advantages of this device were noted repeatedly and only a lazy copywriter did not describe them. A 15-inch firmware for me personally was the standard for a professional laptop. Before that I used: - MBP 15" - 2022 two years without complaints (in TOP configuration) - MBP 13 Retina 2022 (also TOP configurations, 4 years). - MB Air 13 "2022 (issued at work, 1 year) - iMac 21" and 27" at work and at home (several years) Since the firmware of the 13th year did not suit me due to the lack of discrete video, and it was a little outdated, I decided to buy a new laptop, I bought it immediately after the release. What can really be praised for: 1. Weight. At 1.89 kg, that's just 300 grams more than my MBP 13 weighed, for a performance that's completely incomparable. Yes, of course, there is a technological gap of 4 years. But how many laptops with such a screen and hardware today will compete with him in terms of weight and performance per weight? - The question is rhetorical. Thanks to this weight, the 15th firmware actually competes with the 13-inch one, creating a mobile and very powerful solution. In other words - great performance with the same mobility. The task of the purchase was simple - not to buy a new iMac at home and replace the MBP 13 "Retina, using one powerful laptop for all tasks that would connect to an external 4K monitor (s). 2. Design. Of course, these are subjective things, but personally I consider it the most beautiful laptop of 2022. The absence of a burning apple, although it is a pity, did not affect this in any way. Of course I took it in a new gray color, trying to feel something new. The laptop looks very expensive and spectacular, no matter what anyone says. 3. The ability to plug charging into any Type-C (Thunderbolt) port. Yes, it is not magnetic and this convenience will not cover the absence of a magnetic plug, but still it is a convenience that allows you to supply power from any side of the workplace. This is where the positive aspects of this laptop end.
- In order, maybe I was terribly dissatisfied: 1. Keyboard. I don’t know who invented these keys, it’s probably impossible for the devil himself to somehow explain it, but after 6 months of use, having touch typing in 2 languages and all layouts, I still couldn’t get used to and learn how to print without typos. Perhaps, in part, the fact that I bought an American played here: they have a flat Enter, and not a vertical one like on European laptops. Mistakes in typing arose constantly, the keyboard itself is very noisy and it is simply uncomfortable to work on it in a room with people. Yes, damn it, even in absolute silence and loneliness, it is too noisy! 2. Touch bar A completely pointless thing that I, no matter how I tried, did not find any use. Perhaps it looks interesting only on the video presentation. Of all the users of this computer that I know, no one could suggest a real scenario for convenient use. Those who have been behind laptops for a long time prefer not to look below the display at all. 3. Siri I don't like a device that insists (you can't turn it off) to permanently turn on the microphone for "Hey Siri! ". By the way, this is not on the iMac 2022. Moreover, the alert, which always suddenly jumps out with the requirement to turn it on, seems to adapt to the window you are working with and jumps out before pressing Enter, of course with the default active "Enable" button. Where's the privacy, Apple? 4. Touchpad It is senselessly large and uncomfortable. If you put your hands on typing, your thumbs are guaranteed to rest on it, and no amount of machine learning or whatever it was intended to cancel random positives. They exist and they are permanent. It's terribly annoying. 5. On the very first day after the purchase, Belkin went for a magnetic adapter, because he knew that he could not do without it. As a result, you have two choices: either something is stuck in the laptop that always clings to everything, or you carry a USB-C plug with you, as if you had a mouse with a radio module or something like that. This is a failure.
