These shorts are sooooo soft. If they give a lot between sizes. My granddaughter is a size 10. I ordered 10-12, she fits perfectly. Not too tight and not too loose. Don't waste your time. Comfortable for outdoor play and dries quickly when wet. The dirt is washed out without pre-treatment. love love love
