Surprisingly easy. And it really works!
When my kids were much younger, my wife and I would take films home and then put them back into a VCR (that was the state of the art at the time). We kept a VCR and cassette tapes for years but couldn't play them on our current TV as it only has HDMI inputs. But AV to HDMI allowed me to connect my VCR to my TV and convert the analog signal to digital (unlike some of the cheaper "crossover cables"). And to my great surprise, the Dingsun device also included a new HDMI cable and a new RCA cable, as well as an RCA extension if needed.
