Don't waste your time and money: you've been warned
I'm pretty sure the hard drive worked as soon as I opened the box, but I can't tell you because they are inside is an hour, my computer couldn't read the disc and all I heard was a beep from the hard drive - an indication that something was wrong with the hard drive. Within 2 days Seagate Technical Support told me to either return the unit or replace it. Don't waste your time. Not a durable/reliable product.
