Review on πŸ‹οΈ 12000 lb. Load Capacity Smittybilt X2O Waterproof Steel Cable Winch – Enhanced for SEO by Sheppard Priest

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent wind. I have 2015 unlimited.

I've been using this winch for 3 months now, pulled it at least once every weekend. Excellent wind. I have this on the 2015 Unlimited Rubicon and it has never let me/us down. Mostly I drive every weekend, usually there are at least 5 jeeps in our group and we use this winch for towing all the time. I can't give 5 stars for two reasons. 1) The hook on the fishing line is not detachable. This was a problem for me as I use Prolink instead. I had to use a cutting wheel to remove the hook. 2) Wireless is tricky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, especially after immersion in water. This is meant to be a waterproof winch so it should always work. I plan on calling Smittybilt to see if they replace the solenoid under warranty, don't see why they don't. Just a note - when using the wired remote the winch always works - I even used the winch to pull myself out when it was fully submerged, no problem. As for other reviewers who say the solenoid was difficult to install. Not on the winch I received. I installed the solenoid exactly in the center as in the advertised picture and it took 5 minutes. The brackets are already mounted on the solenoid, you just need to attach it to the trusses. It seems that Smittybilt has solved this previous problem. Very happy with this winch so far. Be sure to pre-tension the line during installation. Find a spot with a slight incline about 120 feet long and make sure the line is properly wound on the spool.
